On our way out of Whitehorse stopped at the Yukon Transportation Museum. Outside the museum is the world's largest weathervane which is a retired full size DC 3 plane. It's mounted on a rotating pedestal so that it moves with even a small breeze. We also saw an Overland Train which is an off-road diesel electric land train could travel across snow and tundra and was used to transport materials in this area in the 1950s and 60s. We woke up in Homer to a beautiful sunrise and hit the road without a set destination, except to head towards home over the next few weeks. We arrived in Homer Alaska on 8/15. This is the midpoint of our trip and we'll start heading towards home after this. We stayed the first couple days at Ocean Shores RV Park which is on the bluff overlooking Kechamak Bay and the Cook Inlet. It had easy beach access and sweeping views.
