Alaska State Fair and Heading South
We woke up in Homer to a beautiful sunrise and hit the road without a set destination, except to head towards home over the next few weeks. Up until this point we've had a pretty well defined set of destinations and reservations at more popular locations like the Canadian National Parks and Homer. Homer and Halfway!
We arrived in Homer Alaska on 8/15. This is the midpoint of our trip and we'll start heading towards home after this. We stayed the first couple days at Ocean Shores RV Park which is on the bluff overlooking Kechamak Bay and the Cook Inlet. It had easy beach access and sweeping views. Seward and Petersen Lake
From our campground in the Portage Valley area we drove south to the coastal town of Seward. It's another beautiful coastal town located on Resuurection Bay. It's surrounded by a mix of snow capped and tree covered mountains . Our campground was right on the waterfront and and easy walk to town.
